Sântimbru

Sântimbru este situat la 11 km de Miercurea Ciuc, la poalele de est ale Harghitei de Sud. Satul de pe câmpia Oltului, amplasat pe ambele maluri ale râului, poartă numele bisericii medievale, avându-l ca patron pe Sfântul Emeric. Satul este centrul comunei cu același nume. La est este stațiunea “Băile Puturoase”, aparținând satului. Satul este situat în mijlocul bazinului Cicului de Jos, lângă pârâul Olt. Populația sa este de aprox. 2100 locuitori, există 729 de numere de case în sat. Așezarea este împărțită în cinci unități: Alszeg, Pálszeg, Sándorszeg și Felszeg sunt situate pe malul drept al Oltului, iar Bedecs este pe malul stâng.

Datorită apropierii râului, satul este înconjurat de habitate extinse. De-a lungul Oltului alternează zonele umede și pajiștile, în timp ce zonele mai înalte sunt folosite pentru agricultură. Din orice punct al satului se deschid perspective frumoase spre munții înconjurători.

Unitățile satului sunt bine separate între ele până în prezent. Acestea sunt conectate prin două poduri deasupra Oltului. În ceea ce privește amplasarea parcelelor, este tipică așezarea în piaptăn sau adunat.

Sântimbru

Sântimbru (Csíkszentimre) is located 11 km from Miercurea Ciuc (Csíkszereda), in the eastern foothills of the Déli-Harghita mountains. Situated on the plains of the Olt, on both banks of the river, the village takes its name from its medieval church dedicated to Saint Emeric (Imre). The village lies in the central part of the Lower Ciuc (Csík) basin. The village has a population of about 2100 and 729 houses. The village is divided into five parts. Of these, Alszeg, Pálszeg, Sándorszeg and Felszeg are situated on the right bank of the Olt, Bedecs on the left bank.

Due to the proximity of the river, the village is surrounded by extensive habitats. Along the Olt, marshes and reedbeds alternate, while the higher areas are used for agriculture. From any point in the village there is a beautiful view of the mountains. To this day, the parts of the village are well separated from each other. They are connected by two bridges over the Olt.
